Innovating Drone Operations: Fivecomm’s Role in ALAIRE project
ALAIRE project is an ambitious initiative aimed at developing and integrating U-space, a set of services and procedures designed to ensure the safe and efficient management of drone traffic (UAS) within European airspace. This initiative seeks to establish a scalable and replicable U-space integration model that can be applied across different regions. As part of its objectives, a demonstrator will be implemented in the Mancomunitat Camp de Túria, providing a real-world platform to validate and showcase the innovative solution.
Fivecomm collaborates with the following entities in the development of the project: Universitat Politècnica de València, Abionica Solutions, and Urjato. Each of these organizations brings its expertise and specialized knowledge to ensure the success of this innovative initiative.
Fivecomm plays a vital role in the project by designing the 5G telecommunications infrastructure necessary to support UAS applications in the target area. This includes developing an onboard communication module for drones and integrating monitoring, control, and remote identification services within a cutting-edge three-dimensional “Digital Twin” model. This virtual representation will enable real-time visualization and management of operations, services, and the 5G ecosystem’s status.

Financing and support
ALAIRE project has received funding from IVACE+I under grant reference INNEST/2024/582 and is supported by the European Union.
Through the combined efforts of all participants, ALAIRE is set to revolutionize drone traffic management, laying the foundation for safer and more efficient solutions that can be adopted across Europe.
