ARTUS-VEC training program: Fivecomm leads a groundbreaking course on 5G vehicular communications
Fivecomm has joined forces with Renault Group España to drive forward the development of the electric and connected vehicle ecosystem. As part of this collaboration, Fivecomm delivered a specialized training session titled “5G Vehicular Communications”, within the ARTUS-VEC training program. This initiative is a component of the broader strategic project, “Industrial Innovation Ecosystem for the Manufacturing of the Electric and Connected Vehicle in Spain,” led by Renault Group.
The training featured contributions from top industry experts representing companies such as EUROCYBCAR, Centro Zaragoza, Tradia Telecom S.A., Optare Solutions, and Tecnivial – Innovación en Señalización, who came together to explore the future of mobility and share knowledge on emerging technologies.
During the session, David Martín-Sacristán and Martina Barbi presented the innovative concept of the vehicle as a sensor, a groundbreaking vision that transforms the vehicle into an intelligent data node, capable of:
- Monitoring and transmitting information on both driver status and vehicle performance.
- Exchanging data with other vehicles and receiving input from road infrastructure.
- Detecting incidents and tracking environmental parameters in real time.
At Fivecomm, we continue to develop cutting-edge solutions that shape the future of telecommunications and intelligent transportation. This milestone represents another step toward a fully connected industrial ecosystem—one where 5G IoT technology is central to the digital transformation of the automotive sector.
This project is backed by the Ministerio de Industria y Turismo and supported by fondos Next Generation de la UE, further reinforcing Spain’s leadership in technological innovation and its transition toward smarter, more sustainable mobility.
